Serenity in Cedar Key - Home
Shore birds inhabit the flats and marshes around Cedar Key
Enjoy Island Life!

Cedar Key is an unusual place – we arrive with all sorts of plans of things we must do while visiting, but mysteriously "Island Time" takes over and we find ourselves relaxing on the balcony or hanging out at the dock with a fishing pole. We love to sit and watch the birds and the boats go by or spend the afternoon drowning shrimp on the dock. But isn't that why you came to Cedar Key? To unwind? To relax?

Here's some ideas for things to do while you visit with us. Don't plan your schedule too tightly - the charm of Cedar Key is finding your center and taking the time to relax, recharge, and realize that life's too short to be in go mode all the time.

Birding in Cedar Key...
Whether you watch the birds from a balcony or local dock or you head out to the wildlife refuge in a boat or kayak, you will be amazed at the number of species you'll see in Cedar Key. The Cedar Keys are in the heart of Florida's Nature Coast – wildlife viewing is something that pretty much happens whether you go looking or not. Just up the road from Cedar Key is Chiefland next door to Manatee Springs, another excellent park for viewing birds and manatees. The Suwannee River is just north of Cedar Key and is a terrific day trip for canoeing/kayaking.

Fishing the Cedar Keys...
A part of Florida's Big Bend, Cedar Key is well-known for excellent fishing - redfish are a favorite! Whether you fish inshore from a dock or offshore for grouper, cobia, and what have you - you will almost certainly catch something and enjoy the beauty of the scenery while doing it!

Check out the links below for more fishing information! Cedar Key Boating ...
Boating is extremely popular in Cedar Key - folks bring their own craft or they rent them at the marina. There are also plenty of tour operators who will take you out if you'd prefer to let someone else do the navigating.
